SPF stands for Sun Protective Factor. SPF numbers can range from as low as 2 to as high as 100 on your product. These numbers refer to the product’s ability to screen or block out the sun’s burning rays.
For example, “SPF 15” means that 1/15th of the burning radiation reaches the skin through the recommended thickness of your sunscreen.
Be careful in outside environments, such as the beach. Sunscreen or sunblock needs to be reapplied to ensure proper protection from the sun’s ultraviolet rays!
Your sun protection needs could change over time and with different circumstances such as weather, medication, and cosmetic procedures. If you have a previous history of sun damage, be sure and call our Dallas office for a total body skin exam (TBSE) so we screen you for skin cancer.
